Of Sicilian heritage, Ben Castelli is based in the heart of ‘Little Italy’ Leichhardt, regularly creating the exciting and festive atmosphere that is often associated with his culture. His repertoire is a brilliant blend of  Spanish dance music, medieval folk songs, flamenco, jazz, and classical standards.

Ben Castelli attained his Bachelor of Music, graduating with High Distinction from the Newcastle University - Conservatorium of Music. Majoring in double performance, he won many prizes and scholarships including the Newcastle University - Frank Hutchens Scholarship and Best Contemporary Performance at the Sydney Performing Arts Challenge.

In 2006 Ben became a targeted graduate from the University of New England with a Graduate Diploma in Education.  After building a very successful music department at Moss Vale High School he took on the roles of music teacher at the Australian International Performing Arts High School (AIPAH) and guitar teacher at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music (AICM).).
